Cobalt 10% means the presence of 10% cobalt octoate in a solution or substance. Cobalt 10% acts as an oxidative and drying catalyst. This material is a purple and transparent liquid and does not contain any suspended particles. Its main task is to accelerate the surface drying process of multiple oil compounds in paints and varnishes.
Cobalt 10% in combination with other metallic dryers facilitates film drying. Also, it gives an optical whitening effect to the ingredients that are added to it. Compared to linoleate, phthalate, and naphthenate, cobalt 10% offers better color, odor, stability, and viscosity. Its price is also lower than synthetic acids and metal salts such as those prepared using iso acids or neo acids. In total cobalt 10%:

Application of Cobalt 10%
The process of curing polyester resins with ketone peroxides such as methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) at room temperature requires another component to activate the reaction. This third component is cobalt octoate or cobalt naphthenate, which has a purple color. Based on the percentage of cobalt metal in cobalt octoate, its consumption amount is determined. Normally cobalt octave used in the composite industry is supplied with 10% metal.

Cobalt should be stored in a dark and cool environment and keep its containers completely closed. Keep cobalt away from oxidizing materials due to the possibility of a strong reaction.
Cobalt can be used for 6 months after the production date if it is kept in completely closed containers and at a temperature below 30 degrees Celsius.
