Introduction of PVA film powder
PVA film powder is a polyvinyl alcohol in powder form. PVA stands for Polyvinyl Alcohol, which is a synthetic polymer. PVA film powder is commonly used as a lubricant, anti-corrosion and anti-sticking agent in many industries. For example, it is used in the paint industry, resins, adhesives, waterproofing materials, laundry materials, nanophenol, polymer materials, protective coatings, etc. This powder is soluble in water and by adding water to it, it is possible to form a PVA solution in water.
PVA powder is placed as a coating between two surfaces that tend to stick and makes it easier to separate the product from the mold. This powder is also known as a mold release agent.
Application of PVA film powder
This type of film is used to separate parts from the mold in the production of resin and GRP materials.
Features of PVA film powder
- No hazardous solvents
- Easy to polish.
- It can be easily separated from the surface of the mold.
- White color after making the solution
Important points regarding the use of PVA powder
After mixing and dissolving in deionized water or drinking water, it forms a thick and viscous liquid. Then this separating liquid is applied with a brush or pistol on the surface of the mold.
After drying, it forms a very thin layer on the surface of the mold, like the layers between onions or cellophane. This layer on the surface of the mold prevents the composite part from sticking to the surface of the mold.
